Webasto pre-heater to aux heating - not working. I have in my car BMW 525d touring (E39 2002, navi16:9) pre-heater Webasto Thermo Top Z/C-D factory builded. It should work like pre-heater after engine start, when the outside temperature is below 5掳C and if i have enough diesel in the tank and if the battery is OK. Not familiar enough with BMW electronics to say whether it's a cluster or some component in between the temperature sensor and the cluster. Oil temp of around 117F isn't operating temperature. I consistently read 240-250 on the dash gauge after driving around a bit. My coolant temp floats around 210-220. Still hoping there is a secret button combination that can boost the heating! Temperature via sensor is controlling function. Also remember high energy consumer loads (heated seats, rear screen, etc.), can mean functions including the heated mirrors are regulated, so appears slower to heat. Appreciate 1. The driver side heated seat isnt working on my X5, the lights for the switch never go on so think the element is ok, it started as a kind of intermittent problem. Found 1 fuse in the boot for the seats and its ok. Is there any other fuses or relays i should be looking for. Thanks and great forum everyone. The manual "6-6" didn't exist until 2003. And I hate that body style. And before you ask, no, it's not on the original transmission. It's on #2. And it's starting to flare between 1st and 2nd again, but I have one more spare ready to go if it decides to stop working. I just got my car two days ago (F30 328d) and I was showing the car off to a buddy and voila! couldn't open the trunk with the fob or with the button down to the left of the dash. I'm assuming it's the magical valet switch in the glove compartment and will check that out tomorrow. It is in the F30 manual on page 41. kFdu. Install oil level sensor into oil pan. Tighten three 10mm nuts and reconnect electrical connector. Fill engine with oil. Start engine and allow to run for 1 minute. Then inspect oil level sensor for leaks. Once you are sure no leaks are present, reinstall plastic splash shields. Upload a Photo: Choose a file. 17 posts 路 Joined 2012. #1 路 Dec 1, 2013. My x3 will not produce heat. All settings are correct with the heater. The thermostat has been changed and the lines have been bled several times. It also takes a very long time for engine to get warmed up. Over a half of an hour. Will produce some heat, (Luke warm) and then will blow cold again. Lastly, I have never heard that heater valves typically fail at full hot as DF mentioned, but he knows more than me. If it weren't for DF's comment suggesting otherwise, my best guess would be a bad heater control valve. 1998 BMW 328is. 1966 Pontiac GTO. 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i 5-door. So manufacturers switched to small electric motors called actuator to vary the blend/air mix door positions. Drivers changed air temperature far more often than they change the mode (defrost, floor heat, dash vents, etc.), so the temperature actuators generally fail first. The blower is fine & air is moving, just not cold. If at a stop, I notice the RPM would bounce from 500/600 to 900/1000 & drop back down very 5 secs. If I turn the AC off, after it stops working, the RPM stops bouncing. While the AC is functioning & on, I have no issues. vadim. 887 posts 路 Joined 2007. #3 路 Jan 25, 2009. Rear defroster has nothing to do with it in BMW (unlike Volvo) - heated mirrors are activated automatically if present. One way to check it is to remove the mirror glass (by grabbing the outer edge with fingers and pulling it) and look at the back side of it - heated ones should have wires
