#3 · Sep 20, 2011 hi no its not slipping , just changed filter and dex fluid, did notice small cable[similar to bicycle brake cable] hanging fairly loose on drivers side of box inside auto box by gearchange lever rod .fluid level ok before changed.

On returning from Zambia on Saturday, my D3 all of a sudden picked up a vibration. I thought I had a flat tyre and stopped to investigate. No Flat. On getting out of the vehicle I got a very strong smell of overheated brakes. When I started driving again, and I exceeded 90km/h, the vibration started again.
Edit: Step 4 - removing the transmission support through-bolt and raising the transmission wasn't necessary in my case, I had easy access to the drain plug. Just stuck the vehicle in extended mode and put some support stands underneath. It will be necessary if you do a filter/sump change as well. Attached Files.
